Analysis:
Jessa McRoe's debut album, "Every Other Girl" debuted at the top this week, with 239,000 copies sold in its first week. The #1 debut was thanks to the her hit single of the same name which continues to stay as one of the top pop songs. Early tracking had the album at about 275k but the rest of the week wasn't nearly as strong as projected, but nearly 240k is very acceptable.
In other female hitmakers news, Danielle's self-titled debut album continues to chug along thanks to the huge success of "This Is Me". The album debuted a bit soft but since it debuted, its been able to maintan four 100k+ weeks, which in today's music business, is AMAZING. The set sold another 111k this week (down from last week's chart-topping 132k), for a four week total of a strong 483,000 copies. Meanwhile, at #3, Blair Cooper's "Torn" took another 78,000, as "Queen of Revenge" starts its slow descent down the chart (but have no fear: a new single is awaiting!). The set has sold 944,000 copies to date and next week it will become the first album to hit 1 million copies in our game.
Giovonnie Samuels' "Vegas Dreams" took a bit of a slide this week, down to 51k (down from it's 95k debut last week) this week. It's sold 146,000 in two weeks as "Lights" featuring Stevie Wonder continues to grow. Monique Coleman's self-titled debut album also continues to chug along after a rocky start. Thanks to a hit second single, "Fighter", the album has maintained decent sales, for another week of 43,000 copies sold, for a total of 198,000 copies to date.
In other news, as Pete Wentz fans anticipated the new single coming out this Tuesday, the album took nearly no dip at all from last week, with another 26,000 copies sold (for a 339,000 total to date), and with the song coming out, the album has nowhere to go but up.
Meanwhile, Night Records' Elizabeth Conley and Shane Porter continue to sink. Elizabeth Conley fell to #9 this week with 24,000 copies in sales (down from last week's 31k debut), for a 55,000 total in two weeks. Meanwhile, Shane Porter sinks to #11, with 12,000 in sales for a total of 90,000. Shane, though, should go up, thanks to a new single coming up. Another Night Records artist, Gabriel Austin, is also going to expect some better improving sales with his new single coming up (he was #12 this week with barely over 10k in sales).
Last but not least, Tina Barrett, whose album/singles are pretty much over and done with, as her album, "Tina" sinks nearly 50% this week to barely 3,000 copies, for a 90,000 copies total to date. The album will have a hard time pushing 100k.
